Fencing disputes are almost never about the fence. They are about the property line and the bylaw. Municipal height limits differ between front and rear yards and between municipalities in the valley, corner lots have sightline rules, and a fence built on the wrong side of a line is a legal problem rather than a construction one. Good fencing contractors raise all of this before they quote.

Post depth, concrete and drainage at the post base determine whether the fence is straight in ten years. This is where cheap quotes get cheap.
