Local Voices is a community reporting and petition service from Okanagan Trade Directory.
How we report
We link to public records and independent reporting, distinguish established facts from opinions and proposed requests, and date our research. We may use AI to assist research and writing; publication requires an editorial check against the cited evidence. We do not claim to speak for every resident.
How campaigns work
Petitions ask a named institution for a specific action. They are independent community support campaigns, not statutory petitions or official consultations. Targets are proposed requests, not promises from the institution. Confirmed signatures are not a representative opinion poll. Material changes to the signed request require a new version and fresh support.
Independence & corrections
Our directory offers paid business services. Petition placement and editorial conclusions cannot be bought, and sponsors have no right to suppress coverage. Sponsored content will be labelled. No sponsor funds these launch petitions. We welcome corrections and responses from affected institutions and will date material corrections.
